about the tourney

A FATHER’S DAY TOURNAMENT YOU SHOULD BE A PART OF…

Summer… Father’s Day weekend… baseball. I can’t think of anything more American than that.  But this tournament is different.  This tournament is special.  This tournament honors the life of a fallen teenager, his passion and love of the game, and provides an opportunity for other kids to realize their dreams of a college education.  This is “Tutty’s Tourney!”

Jonathan Tuthill is the youngest of 3 children born to David & Tammy Tuthill (Megan, Mollie, Jonny).  On the morning of August 9, 2016 Jonny's life was tragically lost in an automobile accident while on his way to work.  Jon died that morning just before 8am.  He was about to start his senior year at Grand Ledge High School and could not have been happier.

To those who knew Jonny well, he was happy, vibrant, and loyal.  He loved the game of baseball as much as anything in this world.  He loved to deer hunt, kayak, hammock with his friends, and socialize any chance he had. He had a great zest for life, a contagious smile, and a great sense of humor.  His loss broke like a wave through the Grand Ledge and the Mid-Michigan baseball community touching all who knew him both on and off the field.  Jonny would be proud to know just how much he influenced the world around him.  Those of us who knew Jon personally are better off for having been his family and friends.

The weekend of June 14-16, 2024 Tutty’s Tourney will hold its 7th annual Grand Ledge tournament in Jon’s memory.  We have an incredible event staff and group of volunteers who are committed to making sure your kids/team have a quality tournament for a great cause.  Please consider coming out Father’s Day Weekend and participating with us.  Even if you didn’t know Jon personally, it’s a great opportunity to let your kids be a part of something bigger than themselves or the game.  It’s a chance to talk to your team about what REALLY matters in this life.

We hope you like what you see in these few tournament pages.  We’re happy to answer any questions you might have and we hope to see you the weekend of June 14-16, 2024.
